Kemps Nine Daies Wonder: Performed in a Daunce from London to Norwich

Kemp's Nine Daies Wonder, written in the early 17th century by comic actor William Kemp, is a satirical account of his journey from London to Norwich while performing a morris dance. The work blends autobiography and travelogue, detailing Kemp's humorous interactions with townspeople and the challenges he faced along the way. Notable for its light-hearted tone and entertaining anecdotes, it reflects the theatrical culture of the Elizabethan era and Kemp's significant role in it, as he was a prominent figure on the stage, succeeding the famous clown Tarlton.
