Kaushitaki Upanishad

Kaushitaki Upanishad
The Kaushitaki Upanishad, an ancient Sanskrit text likely composed before the middle of the 1st millennium BCE, is part of the Rigveda and belongs to the Kaushitaki shakha (branch). This prose work, divided into four chapters, discusses themes of the heavenly world, reincarnation, and consciousness. Notably, it is classified as a Sāmānya Upanishad, making it common to all schools of Vedanta. The Upanishads, including the Kaushitaki, are philosophical texts that transcend religious dogma, influencing thinkers like Arthur Schopenhauer, who regarded them as a pinnacle of human wisdom.
