Kaukomieli: Lemminkäisen Taru Suunniteltu Näyttämölle, Kolmessa Kuvaelmassa

A dramatic play written in the early 20th century. The work draws upon Finnish mythology, particularly the character Lemminkäinen from the Kalevala, and explores themes of love, fate, and personal struggle set against the backdrop of a mystical and enchanted world. The central character, Kaukomieli, embarks on a journey that intertwines with his destiny and relationships, particularly with his sister Ainikki and his beloved Kyllikki. The opening of the play introduces readers to a vivid scene in Kaukomieli's humble home, where his mother expresses her concern for her son, who seems to be lost and unresponsive to the world around him. As the characters engage in dialogue, a sense of yearning and melancholy permeates the air, particularly through Ainikki's search for her brother. The atmosphere shifts between hope and sorrow, as the characters reflect on their feelings and the ties that bind them. The stage is set for a tale that delves into the intricacies of family dynamics and the pull of one's fate amidst the mystical tapestry of Finnish heritage.
