Join Our Gang?

Join Our Gang? is a science fiction narrative by Sterling E. Lanier, written in the early 1960s. The story follows Commander William Powers of the Survey Group Sirian Combine as he navigates interstellar diplomacy with the aquatic civilization of Mureess. The plot explores themes of colonization and the ethics of intervention as Powers and Captain Mazechazz attempt to persuade the proud and isolationist Mureess government to accept outside assistance amidst a looming crisis. The narrative raises critical questions about cultural contact and the moral implications of imposing external control on alien societies.
