Jimmy Drury: Candid Camera Detective

The fog-shrouded streets of 1930s America provide the backdrop for this spirited young adult mystery. Jimmy Drury, an aspiring photographer with a candid camera and an eye for the unexpected, stumbles into a world of crime when he crosses paths with the Silent Terror, a shadowy figure who has been terrorizing the city. A brutal attack leaves Jimmy unconscious on a bridge, but his camera may have captured the killer's face. As he teams with seasoned detective Tom Howe and sharp-witted journalists, Jimmy must navigate both the dangerous streets and his own fears, transforming from an ordinary hobbyist into an unlikely crime-fighter. The novel pulses with period detail and youthful energy, capturing a moment when photography was still magical technology. For readers who enjoy vintage mysteries and stories of young people proving themselves in adult worlds, this book delivers old-fashioned suspense with fresh enthusiasm.
