Ikom Folk Stories from Southern Nigeria

Ikom Folk Stories from Southern Nigeria
Ikom Folk Stories from Southern Nigeria, written by Elphinstone Dayrell between 1869 and 1917, is a collection of 34 folktales gathered from the Ikom district of Cross River State. The stories encompass themes of nature, animals, and human experiences, including both natural and supernatural elements. Notably, the book concludes with a Latin tale, a practice common among anthropologists of the time for handling explicit content. This work serves as a sequel to Dayrell's earlier collection, Folk Stories from Southern Nigeria.
