Historia de un Pepe
A foundling left at a stranger's door in colonial Guatemala grows up believing he has no family, no history, no name. Adopted, then cast out when his adoptive mother dies and his father rejects him, he becomes one of the city's "pepenados", street children scrambling to survive. But fate has a cruel sense of humor. When he comes of age, he joins the ranks of the law itself, tasked with capturing a phantom criminal who has mysteriously guided and protected him throughout his life. The hunter must pursue the very man who gave him life, and the secret will unravel everything he thought he knew about justice, loyalty, and belonging. Milla y Vidaurre weaves a tale where the boundaries between law and crime blur, where identity is a question with no safe answer, and where a father hides in plain sight as both threat and guardian.
