Herzen von Afrika
Herzen von Afrika, written by Georg Schweinfurth and published in 1871, documents his extensive travels in Central Africa from 1868 to 1871. Commissioned by the Humboldt Foundation, Schweinfurth explored regions inhabited by the Bongo, Schilluk, Nuer, and Dinka, and made significant discoveries including the Uelle River and the Akka pygmies. His findings in ethnography, botany, and geography are considered some of the most important contributions to African studies of his time.
