Girls of Highland Hall: Further Adventures of the Dandelion Cottagers

Carroll Watson Rankin

Children & Young Adult Reading, Novels

Five friends from Northern Michigan arrive at Highland Hall, a boarding school near Chicago, carrying with them the irrepressible energy of youth and the promise of adventure. When a thief is discovered among the student body, the girls find themselves drawn into intrigue that tests their loyalty and wit. Meanwhile, Henrietta waits desperately for word of her father, lost somewhere in China, and the mysterious headmaster guards secrets that shape the school's strange atmosphere. But the truest adventure may be the one that happens quietly: the girls befriend an orphaned servant at the school and must decide what they owe to someone with nothing. This is boarding school fiction at its most earnest and enjoyable, where tricks are played, plenty of pie is eaten, and the greatest lesson learned is what it means to stand by someone.
