Four-Fifty Miles to Freedom

Four-Fifty Miles to Freedom is a true account of the escape of eight British prisoners-of-war from a Turkish camp during World War I. Co-authored by two of the escapees, the narrative details their life in various POW camps and their meticulously planned escape from Yozgad. The journey involved a perilous trek of over 300 miles across deserts and mountains, followed by a 120-mile ocean crossing to reach safety. This story highlights themes of resilience and survival in the face of adversity.
