Evil Shepherd
When Oliver Hilditch stands accused of stabbing his business partner through the heart, no one doubts his guilt. The evidence is overwhelming, the verdict seemingly certain, until brilliant defense attorney Francis Ledsam tears the prosecution's case apart and walks his client free. It's a triumph of legal skill, a victory worth celebrating. But then Hilditch's wife seeks Ledsam out with a confession that curdles his celebration: her husband is guilty of crimes far more monstrous than murder. Now Ledsam finds himself snared between his own romantic entanglements and a terrible knowledge, the innocent man he fought to free was never innocent at all. The law declared Hilditch not guilty. But justice has a longer memory than any court.
