Dichtungen

Georg Heym

Dichtungen is a collection of poetry by Georg Heym, a significant figure in early literary Expressionism, published during his lifetime and posthumously. The anthology includes his published work 'Der ewige Tag' and two posthumous volumes, 'Umbra vitae' and 'Der Himmel Trauerspiel.' Heym's poems reflect the pervasive fears of war and natural disasters of his time, culminating in apocalyptic themes. Tragically, Heym died young while attempting to save a friend from drowning.
