Constantino Brumidi, Michelangelo of the United States Capitol

Published in 1950, 'Constantino Brumidi, Michelangelo of the United States Capitol' by Myrtle Cheney Murdock is a historical account of the life and works of Constantino Brumidi, an Italian artist renowned for his frescoes and murals in the U.S. Capitol. The book highlights Brumidi's dedication to his adopted country, his artistic achievements, and the struggles he faced, including criticism and a lack of recognition. Murdock's narrative questions why such an important figure in American art remains largely unknown, emphasizing the need to honor forgotten artists and their contributions.
