Cathay

Cathay
Published in 1915, 'Cathay' is a collection of poems by the Chinese poet Li Po, translated and interpreted by Ezra Pound from the notebooks of Japanese scholar Ernest Fenollosa. This work is notable for its innovative translation style, which contributed to the development of the Imagist movement and sparked interest in Asian literature in the 20th century. In addition to Li Po's poems, the collection includes two poems from Pound's earlier work, 'Ripostes,' and showcases his experimental approach to translation.
