Breeding Minks in Louisiana for Their Fur: A Profitable Industry

''Breeding Minks in Louisiana for Their Fur: A Profitable Industry'' is a scientific publication by William André Elfer, written in the early 20th century. The book explores the practicalities of establishing mink farms in Louisiana, driven by the rising demand for fur and the decline of wild fur-bearing animals. Elfer shares insights from his own experiments on optimal farming conditions, feeding practices, and breeding habits, arguing that with proper management, mink farming can be a lucrative business venture. This work highlights the economic potential of mink farming as a sustainable alternative to over-trapping in the wild.
