The Book of A Thousand Nights and a Night, also known as Arabian Nights, is a collection of stories compiled between AD 800-900 by various anonymous authors and scholars. It features a series of interconnected tales narrated by Shahrazad to her husband, Shahryar, to delay her execution. This volume includes famous stories such as 'Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves' and 'The Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor.' The collection is notable for its rich blend of mythology and folklore from the Indian subcontinent, Persia, and Arabia, and is presented here in the first of sixteen volumes translated by Richard Burton.
