Blue and Purple

Blue and Purple gathers poems that dwell in the tender territory where love and landscape merge. Francis Neilson writes with an early twentieth-century sensibility, reaching toward nature not as backdrop but as emotional counterpart: the blue of twilight and purple of dusk become mirrors for longing, connection, and the quiet ache of beauty too fleeting to hold. These are poems of atmosphere and whispers, where a fading light carries the weight of deep feeling. The collection moves through seasons and silences, finding in natural forms the shapes of human attachment. Neilson's voice is contemplative, often melancholy, but never hollow - there is warmth beneath the restraint, an invitation into intimacy with a world that shifts and fades. Color becomes emotion; light becomes memory; the landscape speaks a language for what words cannot quite say. For readers who find poetry in the spaces between - in the blue hour, in the lingering afterglow - this collection offers sustained attention to emotions we more often ignore than examine.
