Australaise

Australaise
Australaise is a poem by C. J. Dennis, first published in 1913 as part of his collection Backblock Ballads and Other Verses. Recognized as a significant work in Australian vernacular literature, it reflects themes of mild profanity and patriotism, set to the tune of 'Onward Christian Soldiers.' The poem is notable for its humorous critique of the grandiosity typical of national anthems, drawing inspiration from W.T. Goodge's earlier work, 'The Great Australian Adjective.'
