Anne Blake
Anne Blake is an 1854 drama by John Westland Marston, set in Wales during the early Victorian era. The play follows the proud and rebellious orphan Anne, who is caught between her controlling aunt and uncle and her love for Thorold, a visiting artist with a hidden identity. As Anne discovers the truth about Thorold, her anger and wounded pride threaten to destroy their relationship. This work exemplifies the Romantic tradition of its time.
