André

André is a tragedy written by William Dunlap and first published in 1798. The play centers on Major John André, a British spy during the American Revolutionary War, exploring themes of honor, betrayal, and the moral complexities of espionage. As André faces execution for his actions, the narrative also follows an American officer, Bland, who grapples with his loyalty to his country and his friendship with André.
