America

America is a patriotic poem written by Samuel Francis Smith in 1831. It is best known for its opening line, 'My country, 'tis of thee,' and has been set to music, becoming a popular anthem in the United States. The poem expresses themes of national pride and liberty, making it a significant piece in American literary history. It was featured in the Weekly Poetry project by LibriVox in July 2010.
