History - American, History - European
Written in the late 19th century, 'America Discovered by the Welsh in 1170 A.D.' by Benjamin Franklin Bowen presents a historical account arguing that the Welsh, led by Prince Madoc, discovered America over 200 years before Columbus. Bowen compiles historical evidence and narrative traditions to support claims of early Welsh exploration and migration to the New World. The book also explores the connections between Welsh and Native American cultures, aiming to correct the historical oversight regarding Welsh contributions to American history.
