A door for each day of December, a voice for each countdown to Christmas. This audio advent calendar from LibriVox offers twenty-four recordings - one for each day from December 1st through the 24th - exploring Christmas, winter, and all the quiet magic of the season. Listeners hear poetry, prose, and reflections read by volunteers from around the world, their voices carrying everything from Victorian card readings to personal meditations on snow and starlight. The project, begun in 2009, has become one of LibriVox's most beloved traditions, a living advent calendar rebuilt fresh each year by people who believe that the weeks before Christmas deserve to be marked with intention. Some entries are centuries old, passed down through generations of holiday cards and forgotten pamphlets. Others are original.
