A Little Girl to Her Flowers in Verse

A little girl speaks directly to the flowers in her garden, and what unfolds is a tender conversation between child and bloom. Written in playful verse from the early 19th century, this collection celebrates the daisy, the snowdrop, the rose, and others as if they were dear friends. Each poem captures a flower's unique personality through the eyes of a young narrator who sees not just color and shape, but character, mood, and meaning. The changing seasons provide the rhythm, moving from spring's first buds through summer's fullness to autumn's farewell. Beneath the light, personified verses runs a quiet current of gratitude and wonder - the author sees the divine in every petal and believes a grateful heart is the finest lesson a child can learn from nature. It's gentle, earnest, and unashamed of its innocence. Reading it feels like peeking into a child's diary written at a windowsill on a spring morning.
