A Correct and Authentic Narrative of the Indian War in Florida, written by Captain Barr in 1836, provides a detailed account of the Second Seminole War (1835-1842). The book focuses on significant events such as Major Dade's massacre and the severe hardships faced by the army, including food shortages that forced soldiers to consume horses and dogs.
