A Catalogue of Books in English Later Than 1700, Vol. 3forming a Portion of the Library of Robert Hoe

A bibliographic work published in the early 20th century. This volume continues the cataloging of a significant collection of books produced after 1700, specifically marking those within the library of Robert Hoe. The book likely serves as both a historical record and a compendium for bibliophiles, collectors, and researchers interested in the evolution of English literature during this period. The opening of the catalogue establishes the methodology of transcription used, emphasizing fidelity to original title pages and intentional preservation of spelling and punctuation. It outlines details about various works, including their binding, editions, and illustrations. Entries feature a range of authors and seminal texts, along with bibliographic notes that highlight the provenance and physical attributes of the books. The beginning portion presents a careful curation aimed at informing readers about literary works that hold historical and bibliographic significance, serving the dual purpose of documenting a private collection and providing insight into the wider literary culture of the time.
