About this book
The Austrian artist is internationally regarded as one of the twentieth century's foremost artistic figures although is almost unknown in the Netherlands. Lassnig became best known for her Körperbewusstseinsbilder (body awareness paintings), in which she depicted the sensations experienced by her body and in this way defined her relationship to the world. In addition to her paintings and drawings, the show will also feature many of her films and sculptures, and never-before-seen works. "This volume gathers together paintings, drawings, films, and sculptures by Maria Lassnig (1919-2014) from a creative career that spanned some seventy years.
