Palenque

Who were the people that left these monuments of their civilization? Since when did they live there? What grand event made them disappear without leaving after them any trace other than those ruins, those signs of greatness and power, buried under corpulent trees and piles of rubble? Perhaps these hieroglyphs can shed light onto some of these questions.
