About this book
The Body of Faith offers an understanding of Judaism through religious sensitivity and philosophical insight. Basing his work on biblical and rabbinic sources, twentieth-century philosophy, and Christian theology, Michael Wyschogrod focuses on the depiction and personification of God. Rather than looking at God as a depersonalized omniscient being, Wyschogrod depicts God as engaged in human history and as a partner in a covenant with the Jewish people.
The similarities and differences between Jewish and Christian teaching about God's presence in the world are discussed in great depth.
