An Approach to Literature provides a very liberal selection of fiction, poetry and drama, and it is scarecely to be expected that the book will be regularly used from cover to cover. What we have tried to do, now more positively than ever, is to give teachers room to maneuver, a range of choices out of which they can tailor a course to their special needs and to the tastes and capacities of their students.
