Auer Lehrgang
Auer Lehrgang
About this book
"Auer Lehrgang" is the name given to two hand-drawn architectural books discovered in Au in the Bregenz Forest in 1948. Ownership of the volumes can be traced back to the early 18th century, highlighting their special significance, being embedded in a concrete historical context. The different hands of the signatories cannot be determined definitively, but the provenance is undoubtedly that of the so-called Vorarlberger Baroque architects, and the time of the volumes' compilation is very likely connected with the activity of these architects. Caspar Moosbrugger and Franz Beer have both been mentioned in connection with the volumes, so their direct or indirect influence is considered certain. The original volumes have been deposited in the Vorarlberger Landesmuseum in Bregenz.
