Volumul reunește actele colocviului național cu tema Puterea cuvântului, a exemplului şi a simbolului în istoriografie, literatură, retorică şi artă din Antichitate şi până în timpurile moderne. Contribuțiile aparțin unor specialişti din centrele universitare și academice Iași, București și Cluj-Napoca cu preocupări în istoria antică, medievală şi modernă, filologie, literatură, istoria artei, patristică. Contribuțiile din acest volum vizează cercetarea istoriei şi semnificaţiei unor concepte din sfere semantice diverse, a implicaţiilor şi valorilor multiple ale cuvintelor în texte de natură istoriografică, literară, patristică etc., a exemplului ca procedeu retorico-literar, ca reper moral, ca sursă de inspiraţie în acţiunea publică etc., a simbolurilor de orice fel (obiecte, culori, gesturi etc.) şi a hermeneuticii lor în diferite contexte publice, literare, artistice etc. The volume brings together the acts of the national colloquium with the theme The power of the word, example and symbol in historiography, literature, rhetoric and art from antiquity to modern times. The contributions belong to specialists from the university and academic centers Iași, Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca with preoccupations in ancient, medieval and modern history, philology, literature, art history, patristic. The contributions in this volume aim at researching the history and significance of concepts from various semantic spheres, the implications and multiple values of words in historiographical, literary, patristic texts, etc., the example as a rhetorical-literary process, as a moral landmark, as a source of inspiration in public action, etc., of symbols of any kind (objects, colors, gestures, etc.) and of their hermeneutics in different public, literary, artistic contexts, etc.
