The book contains shorter essays (most of them was written in English, one French and one German) about ancient Greek and Roman grammarians. Some knowledge in Old-Greek and Latin is a must - some passages don´t have a translation. It is a useful supplementary source for those who want to understand the historical roots of Western linguistics.
