Apologia
Apologia
About this book
This critical edition of Apuleius' Apologia presents a new translation into Italian and notes, intended to increase the usefulness of this work for students, that focus on morphology and syntax. The introduction gives an overview of the main problems relating to the oration, and of issues in the language and style of Apuleius. Appendices provide "lexical summaries" that cover the development of some of the lexical elements most characteristic of the Apuleian text (including the vocabulary of magic; the vocabulary of accusation; terminology relating to health, illness, and family relationships; etc.). A final appendix discusses the interpretation of Renzo Giovampietro in his theatrical adaptation of the Apologia.
