About this book
Exhibition catalog, Museo Nacional de San Carlos, Ciudad de México December 6, 2018 - April 28,2019 made up of 93 pieces of art that seeks to share the cultural exchange during the 19th century. The exhibition is divided into eight sections: The Factory of Prestige, Works of Travel, Dramatis Personae, Virtue of the classics, The Wealth of the People, The School of Landscape, The International of Sacred Art and The Show of History. In each of the sections, pieces by Mexican artists such as Tomás Pérez, Tiburcio Sánchez, Epitacio Calvo, Primitivo Miranda and Juan Cordero, as well as Italian artists who showed Mexico Roman art. Among the Roman painters that stand out are Francesco Coghetti, Francesco Podesti and Giovanni Silvagni, of which there are paintings that were placed in the Mexican classrooms to show the new artists the technique of Roman painting.
