About this book
The book raises questions about the globalizing and hegemonic perspective of modern science, which disregards the various realities in which collective life gives distinct meaning and meaning to happiness and good living. To this end, it is organized into three parts: women and their struggles, women and their cultures, women and their identities. To understand woman is to surpass theoretical and methodological standards by opening up to other ways of being and living in the shared world with complex networks that break with the colonizing imposition and strengthen in other relationships that go beyond the visible of our human corporeality. In struggles for the rights to a decent economic and sociocultural life, women put themselves in motion. The textures of the daily and ritualized life of the traditional communities show the women, integrated in the cosmologies and the global ecosystem, intending the formation of the modern western and feminist thought. In thematizing women and cultures, the authors discuss the practices and theories that underlie Western institutions and society from other perspectives of thinking about the body-person, woman-body that is, different and unique in each historical sociocultural context.
