Photobook.Ph

The Kasseler Fotoforum has attempted to identify the best photo books of the year 2007/08. We have invited international practitioners - critics, publicists and curators as well as booksellers and collectors - to nominate a book which they personally consider to be the most successful, most beautiful and most interesting of the previous year. It really surprised us that this altogether obvious idea of a retrospective had not yet been picked up by the photo world. This volume contains all the nominated books together with a personal statement by the entrants. As we had hoped, it reflects all aspects of contemporary photography, ranging from the opulent picture book via experimental book forms to the illustrated theory of photography"--Photo-eye.
