This letterbook contains copies of business correspondence written by Adams from 1837 to 1852. Included are some letters written by Adams' brothers Whittlesey Adams (1829-1916) and Asahel Edgar Adams (1820- ). The correspondence through 1848 deals primarily with the general store and financial matters. Almost all of the letters from 1849 onward detail post office business, and many of these discuss the subscriptions of Warren residents to newspapers, periodicals, and books.
