The Reformation was not merely an event within the interior of the newly formed Protestant Churches, but displayed its effects in different contexts, affecting all spheres of political, social and cultural life. Proven experts both from Germany and other European countries place the Reformation into its different historical contexts and show their lasting effects in the present. Originating from the studium generale at the University of Marburg in the summer of 2017, their contributions reflect an overall panorama and a balance of the Reformation after five hundred years.
