In this book, Giuseppe Cambiano has collected several essays that deal with the history of historiography in Italy. He approaches the subject from the perspective of Italian philosophy on the one hand, and ancient philosophy on the other, and he deals with the time period from the 19th century to the present. In the foreground appear figures who have given significant contributions to the study of history in Italy: Labriola, Abbagnano, Garin, Pugliese Carratelli, Momigliano, Venturi.
