The gamble

Agatha was the picture of propriety--a rarity in the rough and tumble town of Profitt, Kansas in the 1880s. Plain as can be, she would all but have disappeared in her drab surroundings were it not for her emerald green eyes. If anyone could bring out the passion--and anger--in those eyes it was Scott. First enemies, then friends, the two never imagined that the sweet innocence of a child would open their hearts to the wondrous gift of love. When it does, the two face the gamble of their lives.
