Eyes of the heart

Prudence Beck is in a dilemma. Her husband of a few short months has been hanged as a horse thief and she is alone on the brink of motherhood. The majestic timberland of the Washington Territory beckons, and Prudence soon finds herself the somewhat unwelcome guest of Jonathan Hartwell, a rugged lumberman. His wife has died after the birth of their child and his now four-year-old daughter hungers for the warmth of a mother's love.
