Assessing the arts

Provides sample assessment materials, such as written questions and creating and performing exercises and tasks, that were administered in NAEP Arts Field Tests in 1995 (grade 4) and in 1997 (grade 12). Offers arts educators, curriculum planners, and policymakers information on how NAEP developed, administered, and scored the performing, creating, and responding exercises and tasks that allowed an objective, large-scale assessment of student performance in the arts.
