Trouble is brewing in the Panther clubhouse for Kerby and Fenton. On the eve of the annual battle with their arch-rivals, the Wildcats, Bumps Burton, star catcher and spokesman for the Panthers, allows himself to be smooth-talked into a trap by a sporting goods dealer. The winner of the Panther-Wildcat game will receive a lot of brand-new baseball equipment if they agree to play an exhibition game with the Taylorville Toms. It sounds ideal to Kerby and the Panthers until they learn what the catch is -- the Toms are a team of girls.
