Over the course of a month, photographer Cristiano Mascaro (b. 1944, Catanduva, Brazil). drove through Portugal, noting not only the grandiose monuments that dot the country, but also the anonymous constructions he encountered along the way. The images resulting from this trip were gathered in this volume. They reveal the development of Lusitanian architecture over the centuries, showing small villages and large cities, old churches and medieval castles alongside innovative works signed by world-renowned contemporary architects.
