Book Two, Selected Papers on Work, Self, and the Study of Society contains Parts III and IV, papers 28-58 (pages 279-584). The preface, the complete table of contents, and the complete index appear in each volume. Therefore the index begins on page 577 in Book One as well as in Book Two.
