Dark of the Grey : Part One

Dark of the Grey : Part One

G. E. Perlin, Wendy Wilson

About this book

The year is 2018. Our world has grown fat with complacency and arrogance. Men became blind in their indolence and when the creatures came, they were not prepared. Governments crumbled, systems failed. All of our progress lost in a matter of minutes. We were now living in the shadow of true evil.Follow Nate Carlisle, an unlikely hero with an unforeseen connection to the evil's source, as he discovers what lies beneath the surface of our reality. Unaware of his power, Nate is thrust into a dangerous journey that will set him on a course to not only fight for his own survival, but the survival of the world. A story told in three parts (part three out in October). This unnerving tale will have you gripping your pillow at night. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Review by: Jack Magnus - Readers' FavoriteG.E. Perlin's horror novella, The Dark of The Grey, Part One: The Awareness, is atmospheric and haunting. The episodes Nate experiences capture the worst that dreams seem to offer, while the sensory events that accompany them made me wonder if there was indeed a physical condition at the root of it all. Perlin sets up his main character perfectly. The reader quickly gets into his personality, his past, his lifestyle, and his lucrative job coding top-secret snippets from a government entity. I found myself envying him his remote island home. The horror in this tale builds up slowly and inevitably, starting with hints of terror amidst the odd discomforting odors accompanying his return to a waking state. His appointment with Dr. Karington ramps up the suspense while keeping the truth behind it all obscured and tantalizingly out of focus. I enjoyed reading The Dark of The Grey, Part One: The Awareness, and highly recommend it to horror fiction fans.
