About this book
On March 19, 1953, the Chicago Plan Commission released a preliminary study of a plan developed in consultation with Real Estate Research Corporation for the rehabilitation of mature shopping centers. This was called the "Perimeter Plan". Immediately upon release of that analysis, the Southtown Planning Association embarked upon a detailed study of the legal and economic practicability of putting it into effect at 63rd and Halsted Streets. Known as Englewood Plaza, this is probably the largest outlying shopping center in the world. This document contain the results of and data from this study of the specific applicability of the "Perimeter Plan" to this center.
