With her potions shop officially open, Holly heads to the San Francisco Haven for a televised competition, going wand-to-wand with the country’s most elite masters. What should be a career-defining moment quickly sours when Haven Council officials start snooping around her workstation. When a competitor turns up dead, all eyes turn to Holly and her apprentice. Holly knows they had nothing to do with it, but convincing the Haven Council is another story—especially when some members wouldn’t mind seeing her disappear permanently.
