Bright day, dark night

Summer 1941 and the country is still at war. Evacuated to a Devon village, David, the elder son of Tommy and Vi Adams, meets Kate Trimble, a cockney girl. As they become closer, an incident occurs which brings home to them the darker intrigues of warfare and shocks everyone. It is summer 1941, and the country is still at war. In the Devon village of Ashleigh, however, evacuees from the bombs in London are living in an atmosphere of rural peacefulness, until an incident occurs which provides a devastating shock for everyone.
